The Federal Government of Nigeria Began The Disbursement of ₦20,000 Grant Across The Nation, We Gives A Rundown of The People Qualified To Receive Such Payment.The Federal Government of Nigeria has on Thursday commence the disbursement of ₦20,000 grant to some Nigerians who belong to a particular category. The money which is aimed at helping the recipients to start a small businesses of their choice with a view focused on alleviating their sufferings in the country.

According to the Nigerian Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, who clearly stated that about 150,000 beneficiaries are expected to gain from this program across the 36 states in the country, including those residing in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) would still benefit from the new programme.The minister further revealed that the grant, which is meant for rural women in the country, was orchestrated in 2020 by her ministry as part of President, Muhammadu Buhari’s APC administration’s social inclusion and poverty reduction agenda.

The disbursement was flagged off in Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi state.The minister who was well represented by the Deputy director of the ministry, Dr. Abubakar Suleiman, explained that the initiated programmes is part of President Buhari’s efforts aimed at lifting more than 100 million Nigerians out of poverty within 10 years.


In her address speech, she informed the public that the cash disbursement will serve as a one-off grant provision to some of the poorest and most vulnerable women living in rural area across the federation.

She further added that the money will also serve as a boost to beneficiaries’ income, ad also enhance their food security as well as to enable them contribute more towards improving their standard of living.
