‘Drunk’ Texas woman, 32, arrested after flaming wrong way highway crash kills beloved judge

A Texas 5th Court of Appeals judge died on Saturday night after a drunk driver going the wrong way crashed into his car in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, NBC 5 Dallas Fort Worth reports.The 65-year-old David L. Bridges was elected to his seat in 1996.This judge who was so tragically slain by the wrong-way crash left behind children and grandchildren.

Thirty-two-year-old Megan Smith was arrested after she emerged from the wrong-way crash wreckage that took the life of the judge, the Daily Mail reports.Megan Smith, 32, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter after the fatal collision which took place in the northern Texas town of Royse City at around 9:30pm on Saturday.

Local police have indicated that Smith, who lives in Royse City, Texas, was barreling down the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 when she crashed into the judge.She received minor injuries and was hospitalized, but faces a serious charge of intoxication manslaughter, as law enforcement authorities believe she was driving drunk when she careened down the highway the wrong way.The judge’s car was one of two vehicles that Smith crashed into during the horrifying wrong-way driving incident.
