See UNILAG Graduate Who Was Sentenced To 50 Years Imprisonment For Raping 19 Years old Student.
A 34 years old unilag graduate John Otema, from the department of Quantity Survey and Facilities Management was sentenced to 50 years imprisonment raping 19 year old unilag campus student by Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court.
He was charged before chief Justice Abiola Soladoye with three counts of rape and assault occasioning harm of two female students on campus.
The quantity surveyor and facilities manager John Otema, was found guilty on two-counts of rape and assault occasioning harm in respect of the rape of the 19-year-old student of undisclosed identity. He was found not guilty on aanother charge of raping a 20-year-old student of undisclosed of the same institution. It was unsure if this was is first time in this barbaric act.
He sentenced 50-years in prisonment for the rape and also another three-years in prisonment for the assault on the student he raped. Both sentences would run after the other.
It’s quite unfortunate that John Otema would be around 87 years of age if he is still alive after his sentence. This is to sound a big warning to these evil Perpetrators out there to seize from the act.
